Baby Jace

My brother Brandon and his wife Sarah are expecting their first baby at the end of October. They are having a boy, and I am so excited to have a nephew! This weekend our families got together for a shower for Brandon, Sarah and Jace. Before the shower I was able to take a few pictures of Sarah, who looks pretty dang amazing for being 8 months pregnant! How amazing will it be when Sarah and Brandon can share these photos with Jace. I'm currently booking maternity and family photo shoots, you can contact me at http://www.mdavisonphotography.com/ to schedule yours.

Have a wonderful week!

William

This summer I had the opportunity to take pictures of William. This was my first family shoot, and I was pretty nervous. Luckily William's grandma, Denise, is a friend and co-worker of mine at Cornell. They were so laid back and easy going during the entire shoot, which helped calm my nerves. It was so much fun hanging out with Denise and her family on the Ped Mall in Iowa City. Here are few shots from that day.

One of my favorites from the day.

Eventhough William lives in California he is a true Iowa boy at heart, he loves his toy trucks and tractors!
Have a great weekend

Finn's First Birthday

My cousin Finn had his first birthday in August. Taking pictures at his party was so much fun, and a great learning experience. I have been learning how to shoot manually. It can be very frustrating trying to figure out the right settings, but when I do get it right my pictures turn out so much better. I have also learned that when photographing kids you have to be quick, because they are constantly on the move! Here are a few pictures from Finn's birthday. Thanks Karen and Trevor for asking me to take pictures.

This is one of my favorites. Finn was LOVING his cake!

So cute! He is going to be a heartbreaker some day.

Have a great rest of the week.

Colorado

Colorado is one of my favorite places to visit. I traveled there many times growing up, but it was when I spent a summer in Denver in between my junior and senior year of college that I fell in love with the state. I now go back every summer for vacation. Most of that time has been spent in Dillon, CO where my parents spend the month of July. It is so beautiful in the mountains and I look forward to hiking new trails every time I visit. This past July was no exception. This time around I asked my parents to take me on a "hard" hike and they certainly came through on my request. I of course took my camera with me. Here are some of my favorite pictures from that trip. If you see something you like you can go to my website at http://www.mdavisonphotography.com/ to purchase photo cards or a print.

I could have spent all day in this meadow of flowers!

Here is a picture with me and my parents. I have two of the greatest parents. We a great time together in Dillon.

Have a wonderful week

Welcome to m.davison photography's blog! Join me on my journey as a budding photographer. Photography has become so much more than a hobby; it is a passion. I strive to capture the beautiful moments of life. This summer has been filled with such opportunities. One of the first opportunities that came my way was to take pictures at a wedding with my friends Erin and Sarah who own The Locket Photography. I am blessed to have such talented friends who are willing to share their knowledge with me. You can check out their work at http://www.thelocketonline.com. It was my first time shooting a wedding, and I wasn't totally sure what I was doing but you have to start somewhere! It was an amazing experience and so much fun. Hopefully more opportunities like this will come my way. Here are a few of my favorites from that day.

Have a wonderful week.
