Wedding: Sylvia and Will

Sylvia and Will were married on July 31st at Old Brick in Iowa City.  One of the things I love about being a wedding photographer is seeing all the different colors, decorations, flowers, dresses, food - all those little and big details that go into a wedding.  During Will and Sylvia's ceremony different family members and friends spoke words of wisdom, advice and love to Will and Sylvia.  It was one of the most touching ceremonies I've seen, and I've definitely tucked that idea away for my future wedding day.  Thank you Will and Sylvia for letting me capture your wedding day.  Here are a few of my favorites.

Emily and Randon in Love

Emily and Randon are getting married in October, and I had a blast taking their engagement pictures on Wartburg's campus.  Emily and I were communication majors at Wartburg; who would have thought that five years later I'd be her wedding photographer!  Emily and Randon have a fun playful relationship, and this was captured beautifully at the end of our session when they got into a bit of a water fight in a water fountain.

Jace is 9 months!

I can hardly believe that my nephew Jace is 9 months.  Sarah, Jace and my mom came to Iowa City on Wednesday for the day, and I of course took some pictures.  I know I'm a little biased, but Jace is seriously the cutest thing EVER!

Mark + Amanda

I had the pleasure of meeting Mark and Amanda in June, and I have enjoyed getting to know them over the last month.  The three of us ventured to downtown Iowa City for their engagement shoot.  It has been a rainy and humid summer so far, and I was happy that we ended up having beautiful weather the day of their session.  It is of course always fun for me to take pictures for my friends and family, but I really love it when I am able to meet couples and learn all about them and their relationship.  I never get tired of hearing about how a couple met and how they got engaged.  Hearing my client's stories and creating a relationship with them is one of my favorite parts of being a photographer.  Thank you Mark and Amanda for letting me be apart of your story.
