July Family Sessions

I love photographing families.  It is so much fun getting to know each family, their personalities, their quirks, how they interact with each other.  When photographing my clients one of my goals is to capture their personalities.  One of the greatest compliments I can receive from a client is when they tell me they love their pictures, and that I was able to really capture who they are as a family.

Here are the highlights from some of my July family sessions.

June Photo Sessions: Iowa City Photographer

The past month has been a whirlwind of family gatherings, a trip to DC and lots of photo sessions.  I've been doing my best to stay one top of everything and have neglected my blog.  I promise to make up for it!  I had the pleasure of doing lots of maternity and family sessions for some good friends.  In May I had a session in Iowa City with the gorgeous Mindy.  Mindy and I met back in October of 2009 when she was a student at Salon Professionals, and were friends instantly.  Here are some of my favorites from Mindy's maternity session.  Congratulations Mindy and Rich, I can't wait to meet Ella Ferne.

Last weekend I was back in Marshalltown for my nephew's baptism, it was such a special weekend.  While I was home I had a mini session with my long time friend Lisa and her ADORABLE family.  Lisa and I have been friends since elementary school.  She is one of my closest friends and I love her and her husband Tyler dearly.  Lisa and Tyler are expecting their second baby in July, and I was so so excited when she asked me to take pictures of her growing belly.

Play Date!

It has been way too long since my last post.  I've been busy getting ready for Christmas and trying to catch up on all the other parts of my life I had neglected this summer and fall.  While I was back in Marshalltown for Thanksgiving my sister-in-law Sarah and her girlfriends came over to my parent's house for a play date.  With a set of 2 year old twins and 3 little ones 1 years old and younger it was craziness, but so much fun!  Luckily it was a nice day out and I was able to take each of the kids outside in the backyard for some mini photo sessions.  Here are a few of my favorites.
