Baby Jace

My brother Brandon and his wife Sarah are expecting their first baby at the end of October. They are having a boy, and I am so excited to have a nephew! This weekend our families got together for a shower for Brandon, Sarah and Jace. Before the shower I was able to take a few pictures of Sarah, who looks pretty dang amazing for being 8 months pregnant! How amazing will it be when Sarah and Brandon can share these photos with Jace. This summer I had the opportunity to take pictures of William. This was my first family shoot, and I was pretty nervous. Luckily William's grandma, Denise, is a friend and co-worker of mine at Cornell. They were so laid back and easy going during the entire shoot, which helped calm my nerves. It was so much fun hanging out with Denise and her family on the Ped Mall in Iowa City. Here are few shots from that day.

Eventhough William lives in California he is a true Iowa boy at heart, he loves his toy trucks and tractors!

Finn's First Birthday

My cousin Finn had his first birthday in August. Taking pictures at his party was so much fun, and a great learning experience. I have been learning how to shoot manually. It can be very frustrating trying to figure out the right settings, but when I do get it right my pictures turn out so much better. I have also learned that when photographing kids you have to be quick, because they are constantly on the move! Here are a few pictures from Finn's birthday.
