Chicken noodle soup please!
Sorry for my lack of posting over the last couple of days. I've been battling a cold that completely took me down for the count this weekend. I think I'm finally starting to recover. I have to admit I don't handle being sick very well. I'm not good at toughening (is that a word or even the proper spelling??) it out. When I'm sick I just want to lay in bed and have someone make me chicken noodle soup. I feel like I've rounded the corner; fingers-crossed that I'm back in action tomorrow.

Danica
I had the pleasure of taking pictures of Danica, the beautiful daughter of my friends Sarah and Josh. It is such a joy for me to be able to capture this special time in Sarah and Josh's life. Congratulations Bey family!

Growing Collection
I have found myself with quite the collection of parking tickets. It reminds me of back in college when my roommate Erin had quite a large collection of parking tickets from campus security. Erin never registered her car and collected an impressive number of parking tickets, which we proceeded us hang-up all over our living room. Hopefully my collection ends here.
I hope everyone had a great weekend. I can't believe tomorrow is Monday already.

Candy Jackpot!
One of my favorite things to do is raid the candy shelves the day after a holiday. It brings together two of my favorite things - finding a bargain and chocolate. It is like hitting the candy jackpot! If only there were slot machines that paid out candy and chocolate instead of money....Hmmm maybe I'm on to something. :)

Good things come in small packages
I came home tonight to find a small package waiting for me on my door step. I love getting mail that isn't a bill or junk, and this package was especially wonderful. It was the 50mm lens I bought last week. It is like Christmas, I'm giddy with excitement! I can't wait to use it this weekend on my newborn session.
Have a great night,

Weekend with the family
I went back home this weekend to help take care of my nephew Jace while his mom and dad were battling the flu. Going home is always a treat, literally and figuratively, my saturday morning started off with lemon ricotta pancakes and strawberries. The rest of the day was spent playing with duckies in the bathtub, rocking in our favorite rocking chair while listening to Kenny G (I know a bit strange, but oddly quite fun) and watching Jack Johnson's music video for Upside Down that features Curious George over and over again! I love every moment I get to spend with my sweet little buddy.
I hope everyone had a good weekend, and got a chance to get outside and enjoy the warmer weather!

Snowflakes
The snow this morning was beautiful. It was the light and fluffy and looked like perfect little cut out snowflakes. I tried to take some pictures of the snowflakes on my car, but without a macro lens it was pretty hard. Man I wish I would of had a macro lens with me!
Have a great weekend!

A Delicious Treat!
I don't how I came up with idea, maybe I saw it on a commercial, but putting Yoplait Whips in the freezer has rocked my world! I have a huge sweet tooth, and rarely go a day without eating a brownie, cookie, ice cream or a piece of chocolate. This frozen treat is perfect for my sugar cravings and is low in calories - bonus! I highly recommend buying your favorite flavor of Yoplait Whips and sticking in the freezer. I promise that your mind will be blown! :) I'm off to eat this one right now!

Happy Belated Birthday Nancy
A few of us went out last night for drinks to celebrate my good friend Nancy's 30th birthday. It was a VERY belated birthday outing, but well worth the wait. We had a great time. Good friends, laughter, nachos and Markers Mark, what more could a girl ask for on her birthday!?

Happy Valentine's Day??
I was getting coffee at the Bread Market Garden in Iowa City and saw this cookie in their display. I busted out laughing and just had to take a picture of it. I hope I don't get a cookie with "buzz off" on it this Valentine's Day. What happened to Be Mine?
Have a great weekend!

Bring on the snow!
I can't remember the last time I had a true "snow day." I got so much photo editing done and even found time to bake some cookies and have a dance party in my kitchen. :) I tried a new recipe from my family cookbook, which by the way is the greatest cookbook ever. I made crazy oatmeal cookies with dried cranberries and cinnamon chips. They are DELICIOUS!
Here is the recipe:
2 sticks butter
1 1/4 cup dark brown sugar
2 tablespoons honey
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 eggs
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 1/2 cups flour
Add in dried cranberries and cinnamon chips or whatever you like. :)
Cream butter and brown sugar. Mix in honey and vanilla. Mix in eggs. Fold in dry ingredients and your choice of add ins. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
So good! Go bake some right now!
